January 29, 2024 — Planning around the hill tides

This preseason update covered the 2024 hill-tide periods around the new and full moons. Stronger tidal currents are one part of planning a Boca Grande tarpon trip. Fishing opportunities also extend between those periods and throughout the season.

March 8, 2023 — Making time for tarpon

Looking back at the previous season, I discussed changing fishing pressure and the value of allowing more time on the water. Longer trips provide room to adjust to tides and fish movement. Returning anglers were encouraged to contact me early about their preferred dates.

I offer 6-, 8- and 10-hour private tarpon charters, April through October. Boca Grande is the main focus, with opportunities in Charlotte Harbor and along the Gulf beaches as conditions allow.
